SYP
Both 2x6s and 8s stayed true to their expected pattern and increased $10 on average this week.
2x4s are now picking up their pace as well, increasing $8 this week.
It is likely the widths of 4, 6, and 8s in SYP will continue gaining around $10 each week and possibly sustain this pattern through mid-August.
2x10s have now been 3 weeks straight with prices hardly moving; it is possible that this is an indicator that increases for 2x10s will be much slower than the rest of the widths.
Lastly, 2x12s were all across the board in different lengths with 8-16’ increasing around $5 and 18 and 20’ decreasing $10 each.
Low grade material took yet another week of decreases, this week only dropping around $3. Prices decreases seem that they are tapering off and will likely hold steady now through August.
SPF
SPF is now on it’s 5th week straight of price increases. Although prices have not skyrocketed, it seems price increases are maintaining a steady pace of $10-$15 a week on average.
2x4s have now increased between $10-$15 each week for the past 5 weeks.
2x6s have now increased between $5-$10 each week for the past 5 weeks.
Mixed tallies continue to become more difficult to find as mills are over sold on particular sizes and are less likely to fulfill very mixed trucks.
Studs on the other hand, hardly moved this week as prices remained unchanged except on the 2x4x92 5/8” only increasing $5.
OSB
OSB has now had 5 straight weeks where prices have not changed any. There is much speculation as to when OSB prices will finally start their way back up but as of now deals are still to be found and sellers are anxious to move trucks.
